Enhancing VW's online presence

The Challenge

“Volkswagen Plus web and mobile sites underwent a full interface redesign. Before launching it, Palm + Havas was eager to test with users. The objective was to validate and reveal any major issues with the user experience as well as explore the users’ mental models. Furthermore, Red Urban’s objective, an agency from Toronto, was to enhance many elements of VW’s online presence. The main objective of the process was to review the website, observe and identify usability flaws, validate site functionalities, and make recommendations for improvement. We performed a persona-based expert review of the interface from the user’s perspective which involved the creation of three Personas to fuel an understanding of specific contexts of use through a focus on user segmentation.

In addition to the heuristic evaluation we performed some usability tests in English and French which gave some great insights.

The Solution

We helped Volkswagen enhance many elements of their online presence through a usability inspection on the vw.ca website. The main objective of the process was to review the website, observe and identify usability flaws, validate site functionalities, and make recommendations for improvement.
