Cycling in Montreal

In fall 2012, we had participated in Transpocamp’s open forum.
We proposed a discussion on civic spirit and courtesy between bikes, cars and pedestrians.

Since then, four initiatives had came up (or will come up) in Montreal.

1. A bicycle counter (installed at Laurier metro station)
A counter to motivate people to reach 1,000,000 bikes per year or to demonstrate the large number of citizens travelling by bike?

2. The new Bixi mobile app
Have you tested it?

3. A new traffic intersection

A very strategic and frequently used intersection at Saint-Laurent/Bellechasse is planned to better integrate a bike path and pedestrian access

4. Finally the Urban Cycling Summit of Greater Montreal – May 18th, 2013
…or how to develop urban cycling to make Montreal the Mecca of cycling in North America
