What is UX-PM?

The UX-PM Certification is an international user experience (UX) training program for digital product leads, IT, marketing and project managers as well as any professional eager to discover this approach.

There are 3 levelsAdopting UXExecuting UX, and Leading UX. Each level builds to expand knowledge of UX and how to integrate and manage it to achieve an awesome user experience in your projects. Each level is offered as a 2-day course, is certified by the UXalliance and is internationally recognized.

Executing UX

Do you need to know how to manage UX activities in a digital product? How to meet business objectives and market demands through user centred design?

UX-PM 2 certification is for digital product owners, marketing, project managers and any professional, who want to establish a deeper understanding of UX activities and how to incorporate them from the project management and execution perspective, in order to improve the quality of the deliverable/product/service.

Objectives

  • Understand how to incorporate principles of User-Centered design in the project lifecycle to optimize the quality and effectiveness of a product or service
  • Learn to plan, coordinate and implement UX activities at each project phase: from initial vision to implementation
  • Involve stakeholders to align the UX vision
  • Mix various user research & testing methods into the design cycle, before, during, and after delivery
  • Choose the right methods, the right sample and supervise interviews and tests (exploratory research, ethnography, usability test, card sorting, A-B test …)
  • Optimize the user research process in an Agile development cycle

Targeted Audience

Level 2 of the UX-PM certification is best suited for UX-PM Level 1 certified practitioner or IT decision-makers including product owners, account managers, project managers, digital marketing managers and any professional with 2 to 4 years of experience managing a technology-based product or service.

Course Details

In this course, we will cover:

  • Follow every step of the User-Centered Design lifecycle progress, from the vision, to the planning of the design process
  • The relation between UCD and Service Design
  • Analysis of people involved in the project and preparation of interviews with decision-makers and customers
  • Examples of qualitative & quantitative research techniques to discover user needs, as well as user profiles, sample, recruitment and logistics, user research activities, preparation, execution, analyse and deliverables
  • Quick methods to move from business objectives and vision definition to a UX strategy (value proposition Design)
  • Design requirements based on UX strategy
  • Evaluating and testing design solutions, locally and internationally (desktop and mobile solutions I face-to-face, remote, automated)
  • Implementation: collaboration between the UX team and the development team
  • Immersion and practical application: the training includes a progressing case study with discussion and role-playing to sharpen your skills in managing UX activities

Certification Exam

There is an online certification exam at the end of the second day of training.

Who's Teaching?

Joelle Stemp founded the UX agency Yu Centrik in 2003. With great perseverance and adaptability, Yu Centrik was steered through many technological and societal changes to reach 2019 with great relevance. Joelle is a pioneer in the adoption of user experience and service design in Quebec. With a background in communications and a talent for design, Joelle began her career as a designer specialized in user interfaces and has spent the last 25 years involved in projects related to user experience and convergent medias (Web, digital TV, mobile, IVR, OOH).

Joelle is very involved in teaching the UX-PM Certification program developed in collaboration with her partners at UXalliance, a global network of User Experience Experts.

 

 

 

 

Alasdair Stuart-Bell is a bilingual information management consultant and researcher with over 20 years of experience. For the past 18 years, Alasdair has focused on providing services to the public and private sectors in areas such as communications, information architecture, business process reengineering, project management, strategy, service improvement, business transformation, performance measurement, market research, public opinion research and e-government.

Having run a successful company in the private sector landscape, Alasdair is also well versed in issues related to marketing, sales and procurement, leadership and human resource management, amongst others. His clients have involved him in initiatives for Canadians, business, non-Canadians, not-for-profit organizations and the private sector. Alasdair has an M.B.A. from Dalhousie University, which focused on Marketing, International Business, and Information Technology and a B.A. in Political Studies from McGill University.

The Canadian UX-PM certification is currently available in: Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City & Toronto. Outside of Canada, the certification is offered in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, India, Mexico, Poland, Spain, South Africa, Switzerland, United-States and with more countries coming.

Cancellation & copyright

Yu Centrik, the UX agency, reserves the right to cancel a course up to 5 business days prior to the scheduled course date if the minimum class size of 4 participants has not been attained.
Yu Centrik is not responsible for travel, accommodation, or any other expenses incurred as a result of a cancellation.

There is no charge if you cancel a course at least ten business days before the course start date.
If you cancel between two and nine business days before the course start date, you will be required to pay half of the registration fees.
If you fail to show up to a course or cancel the day before the course start date, you will be required to pay the registration fees in full. Cancellations must be submitted in writing (e-mail).
Substitution of participants can be made, at no charge, until the course start date. Should Yu Centrik be forced to cancel a course, 100% of your registration fees will be reimbursed.
