Learning form cultural differences
Yu Centrik Inc.
The Challenge

The Casting website is used by artists from all around the globe. Therefore, the redesign needed to be validated according to cultural perceptions on both desktop and mobile. In addition, the submission task required thorough testing.

Yu Centrik Inc.
The Solution

We conducted global remote focus groups with artists from different locations and in four languages (English, French, Portuguese Brazil and Russian) aimed to validate the usability of Cirque Casting process as well as discovering expectations and new opportunities elicited by a website interface prototype in different cultural contexts. We also did a web survey directly on the Casting website to gather data on artists’ perceptions towards the Cirque Casting website.
« All these methods enabled us to validate the behaviour elicited by a website interface prototype in different cultural contexts. The client was therefore able to redesign according to cultural and technical differences, as well as stark contrasts in the perceptions and expectations of users. Highlights

These remote interviews with users from the United States, China and Germany aimed to validate the behaviour elicited by a website interface prototype in different cultural contexts.
These tests allowed us to experiment with real-time, simultaneous translation in the lab, as well as explore the challenges testing across many time zones. We discovered both cultural and technical differences, as well as stark contrasts in the perceptions and expectations of users.
